Mid Mountain Marathon, September 11

The 6th annual Mid Mountain Marathon, presented by Mountain Trails Foundation and Snyderville Basin Recreation, will be held September 11th. This stunningly scenic single-track trail begins at just under 8100′ and peaks out at 8400′ as it traverses Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and The Colony before descending to The Canyons base area at 6800′. There are spectacular vistas, enchanted forests and glowing aspens.
If you would like to participate in the ultimate challenge visit the “Triple Trail Challenge” site. The TTC is a 3 stage race that includes the Jupiter Peak Steeplechase, Park City Half Marathon and Mid-Mountain Marathon.
The Canyons Lodging Package
Time & Place:
Bib pickup starts at 6:45 AM at Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley Resort. Parking available adjacent to the resort and underground. Race start is 8:00 AM. Awards at 1:00 PM at The Forum at The Canyons. A drop bag station is available for anyone that would like gear at the finish line. Small grocery bags are provided or you may use your own bag. A free shuttle is available to transport you pack to the start.
Course & Distance:
26.2 miles on single track trail from Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley Resort to The Forum at The Canyons.
Marathon course closes at 2:00 PM. For your safety, we have set up a “free ride home” location. If you are not at Red Pine Lodge located at The Canyons mile 17.9 by 1:00 PM you will be asked to head back to the finish in the gondola. If you choose to continue against our recommendations, you do so at your own risk, and will be asked for your bib.
There are 10 aid stations,mile 2.9 (water only), 4.8, 8.5, 10.4, 14.8, 16, 17.9, 19.9, 21.5, 22.8 all have water, Clif Shots and Clif Blocks, every other has Gatorade and bananas.

The course will be altered due to construction, updates will be posted as soon as they become available.
Registration:
Register Runner Card for $65 through August 15 , $75 August 16 through September 3, 5PM MDT, No registration after September 3.
Race is capped at 250 participants….don’t be left behind, register now! Entries are non-refundable.
Entry fee includes: 10 aid stations, libations and much, much more.

Volunteer for this event:
We have several volunteer opportunities from aid stations, registration to timing available. Shifts can be created, we would love your assistance, no skills necessary we’ll train on the spot. Volunteer while your friends and family run!
Insurance:
The organizers and sponsors cannot be responsible for accidents during or in connection with the competition nor physical condition of participants. Therefore, each participant enters at his or her own risk and all participants are responsible for the provision of their own insurance coverage. Each entrant must sign the “Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk and Release” Waiver on the official entry form before permitted to participate.

The higher elevation trails are almost there with the exception of an occasional hike-a-bike over some lingering snow patches on upper Shadow Lake & Apex. The Crest still has a few snow patches as well but with the current weather pattern, I would guess that it will be entirely rideable for the 4th of July [...]

It looks like summer has finally arrived and trail conditions should be excellent for the weekend. Up at PCMR everything is clear below the Thaynes Road. Above that it’s kind of hit or miss depending on the aspect.
