Tuesday Trail Runs, June 1 - August 31 2010

Welcome to Tuesday Trail Runs, this is a series of  trail runs that are  participant lead and non competitive. You can run with friends and a group or pick up the pace for training, all ability levels are welcome. Runs last from 1 to 1 1/2 hours on trails throughout Park City. Meet promptly at 6PM at the scheduled trailhead and don’t forget your water.

July 6: Quarry Mountain Trails                       (McLeod Creek/Farm Trailhead, parking area across from white barn)

July 13: Spiro                                                  (Spiro Trailhead, PCMR lower parking lot)

July 20: Cresent Mine Grade                          (Spiro Trailhead, PCMR lower parking lot)

July 27: Flying Dog Trail                                (Meet at Fasteddie’s house, 9060 Flint Way)

August 3: Sun Peak Trails                               (Sun Peak Trailhead-Community Church)

August 7: (Saturday): Jupiter Peak Steeplechase (New start venue, Silver Star Cafe)

August 10: Sweeney’s                                    (Sweeney’s trailhead, upper Lowell Ave.)

August 17: Summit Park Trail System            (Summit Park, the trailhead is located at the intersection of Parkview and   Matterhorn.)

August 21: (Saturday) Park City Half & Full Marathon

August: 24: Mid-Mountain                             (Silver Lake Lodge)

August: 31: Group Favorite, will post when determined

September 11: (Saturday) Mid Mountain Marathon (3rd and final race of the Triple Trail Challenge)

Trail Report for Monday, June 28th:

The higher elevation trails are almost there with the exception of an occasional hike-a-bike over some lingering snow patches on upper Shadow Lake & Apex.  The Crest still has a few snow patches as well but with the current weather pattern, I would guess that it will be entirely rideable for the 4th of July [...]

It looks like summer has finally arrived and trail conditions should be excellent for the weekend.  Up at PCMR everything is clear below the Thaynes Road.  Above that it’s kind of hit or miss depending on the aspect.
